I started painting my "blue collar" series several years ago. I was inspired by the likes of Laughlin and others who found inspiration in the ordinary faces of working people. My family is from Utah farm roots, then moved to California to live their dream in Los Angeles. This was a time when it was a growing city, full of energy, and full of workers to build the buildings that make it what is is today. I honor my father, a plasterer by trade, a hard working man that was tireless in a pursuit of the a dream for his family.
